Hi! My name is Amanda, and I'm addicted to Japanese music! I am 30 years old, and live in Texas if you can believe that! LOL It started in late high school, early college-as I was an art major who spent most of her class time watching anime. I really didn't get into the music scene until 2003, when I was going to Comic and Anime conventions and was thrown right into the scene. I mean I was standing a foot away from L'Arc en Ciel once, which would have been pretty impressive if I had known who they were at the time. LOL. I got into artists like Utada and Ayumi first from their music in Kingdom Hearts and Onimusha respecively. Then  I started looking around for other artists to get into. I fell in love with Mika Nakashima. She is my favorite, and I played most of her music at my own wedding! :) From there I branched off to J trance, J-Rock and ska. I had a friend that got me into Oreskaband, which then got me into Midnight Pumpkin, Gollbetty and others. I'll post a lot of my faves here. A lot of the music that I am listening to now is not THAT new, so I am here to get feedback from others into what is good right now. There are plenty of artists that I will like a song or two, so I havent invested in albums yet, so i hope everyone can give me some good stuff to listen to!  :)  Oh and I adore Perfume!!!

What is your favourite asian band, group or singer?
Mika Nakashima hands down. From there, Utada, Ayumi, Olivia Lufkin, and Tomoko Kawase.

What is your favourite western band, group or singer?
Most of my favorite western bands are punk-like Bad Religion, NOFX, and Social Distortion. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music though, so I listen to all types of Western Music.
